Pre-shipment Inspection

Pre-shipment inspection is offered to both exporters and importers, comprising a detailed inspection of equipment or materials after manufacture, but prior to shipment. The scope of inspection includes Quality & Quantity, Packing & Marking and Supervision of Loading. A Certificate of Inspection can be provided against a Letter of Credit and authorised by a Chamber of Commerce.

For export to countries with import certification schemes, pre-shipment inspection is a necessary step to receive an import certificate for the shipment. Without this certificate the shipment will not be able to clear customs in the country of destination.

Pre-shipment inspection offers our customers the certainty that the goods arriving on their place of destination conforms to required specifications. These can be the customer’s own requirements or legal demands. With our appointed partner (Bureau Veritas)'s unique global network, we are able to be the independent inspection agency that’s just around the corner, and do so in virtually every harbour and airport around the world.

Potential benefits offered by SPADE's pre-shipment inspection services include:

♠ Protect consumers against dangerous, sub-standard or counterfeit products

♠ Provide a guarantee to the buyer that the goods ordered are those shipped.

♠ Ease trade operations by recognising existing conformity proof to avoid unnecessary additional testing

♠ Conform with recommendations of the World Trade Organisation “Technical Barriers to Trade” Agreement

♠ Protect domestic industry from unfair competition against poor quality imports

♠ Improve the environment

♠ Enhance the quality of exports
